Lost and found

Me: I’ve thought about what we talked about and it reminded me of when I thought I had lost you.

CAT: You mean when you couldn’t find me.

ME: Yes, I was beside myself when you didn’t return home that night.  I had called and called and looked everywhere at least a dozen times, but I couldn’t find you.

CAT: But why didn’t you listen for me, I was calling you!

ME: You have such a quiet small cry.

CAT: You only have to listen with your mind.

ME: Yes, I realize that now.  And that’s what I was getting to and how it relates to what you talked about napping and freeing the mind.

CAT: Ok, go on.

ME: Well, the second night you didn’t show up, I had almost given up hope.  I always leave the outside light on outside for you and I almost turned it out feeling that I wouldn’t ever see you again.

CAT:  Cats see in the dark, we don’t need a light on.

ME:  Leaving the light on is more of a symbol than out of need.  I hesitated and then left it on.

CAT: Go on.

ME: So I went to bed feeling very sad and lonely without you.

CAT: I’m glad that you appreciate me and my company.

ME:  I woke up early in the morning and it was 2am.  I was wide awake.  My mind was free from sleeping and I knew I had to find you.  I thought to myself: All I have to do is send my mind out and find out where you were.  It was instantaneous!  I knew exactly where you were.

CAT: You mean you finally heard me calling you!

ME: Yes, exactly!  But not in the way you would normally think someone was calling you.  I just knew where you were.

CAT: I was so ready for you to find me and get back home.

ME: I put on my pajamas and drove to get you.  I trusted my inner sense and gave in to hope just like when I left the light on.  I just couldn’t give up hope.

CAT: And I waited patiently for you to come and let me out.

ME: I was so thankful when I found you and you were fine.  We went back home together and you ate a little bit and had a drink of water and we went back to bed.

CAT: It was nice coming home.  HOME COMING!

ME: When I woke up in the morning, I had to make sure you were really there and that it wasn’t a dream.  Now I’m so happy we are back together again.

CAT:  Me too!.  And that you are beginning to realize the potential of using you mind and of course napping!

ME: I promise I will take a nap every day!

CAT: I recommend several every day!  Whenever the urge hits you.

ME: Here is a song I wrote about you.

Carolina, Carolina
Lost my true love in Carolina.
Had no warning of her leaving,
There was no sign of where she had gone.

Hoot owls call in the dead of night,
Have you seen my love tonight?
High top ridges and lonesome valleys.
Have you seen my love tonight?

Carolina, Carolina
Lost my true love in Carolina.
Had no warning of her leaving,
There was no sign of where she had gone.

Coyotes howl in the full moon light,
Have you seen my true love tonight?
High top rides and lonesome valleys.
Have you seen my true love to night?

Carolina, Carolina
Lost my true love in Carolina.
Had no warning of her leaving;
There was no sign of where she had gone.

Saw my true love in every shadow,
But when I turned she disappeared.
High top ridges and lonesome valleys.
Lost my love in Carolina.

Carolina, Carolina
Lost my true love in Carolina.
Had no warning of her leaving,
There was no sign of where she had gone.

She disappear around every corner,
But when I turned she wasn’t there.
High top ridges, lonesome valleys,
Lost my love in Carolina.

Carolina, Carolina
Lost my true love in Carolina.
Had no warning of her leaving,
There was no sign of where she had gone.

CAT: I’m touched.  You really missed me!

ME: Of course.  You are the light of my life!
