Educational Programs
We share what we know with others in a variety of ways including hosting groups of young people (boy and girl scouts, through early college) to come tour our place and perhaps spend a day. We have conducted several classes on bread baking, wild crafting and woodworking.
A summer camp program with Macon County summer program provides 250 children with learning experiences including woodcraft, fishing, games, gem mining, and story telling. We have presented programs for a number of groups including church groups, gardening clubs, extension programs, and more.
Our volunteer program allow young people to live and work with us for several weeks to several months. Paul teaches at John C. Campbell Folk school each June and passes on his love of woodworking to 7 -12 year olds. He has also taught after school classes at Macon Middle School where Lara was a resource teacher for many years.
